how to make a box plot

Ekta Goraksha
Group 2

steps to make a box plot:

1) Gather the Data.

2) Arrange the data in a numerical order.
(cumulative graph makes work easier, but it is not necessary though it is useful)

3) Find the median
(the number is the centre of the data)

4) Find the upper and lower quartiles.
(median of the numbers larger than the median is called the upper quartile and median of the number smaller the median is called the lower quartile)

5)  Draw a plot line
(the plot line should be long enough to contain all your data, like a graph ;number should be placed after regular intervals)

6)  Mark your median and quartiles.
(Draw a line up from these points as high as you wish your box to be. Connect the tops of these together to make the box.)

7)  Mark your outliers, or extremes.
(largest and smallest pieces of the data should be marked with a dot)

8)  Connect your outlier to the Box with a lijne.
     ("WHISKERS")

9)
